| Lou, I've been following the progress of the Lou Bear and have been truly moved by your spirit to help others in need. The project looks like its really taking off. The children that are getting a Lou bear in the hospital, did you bring them yet? I'm sure they will love them. There is also a gentleman
in upstate New York who has a special teddy bear called
the Lou Bear (cuz his name is Lou) and he is selling them
to give to children with cancer in hospitals. A small
portion of each bear sale comes to St. Baldrick’s but it
might be a cool fundraising idea for next school year to
coordinate this with Lou and have a fundraiser where
people can purchase a bear for a specific child at one of
the hospitals that St. Baldrick’s gives funding to. There
are several in
New York . Your club can work with Lou and get the
names of the kids and have people buy a bear for a child
and then perhaps, if the hospital will allow you, your
club might be able to deliver the bears to the children.

| It was so wonderful seeing all the people supporting the Lou Bear at Thunder Bash. The display of this wonderful project was both beautiful and touching. I couldn't help but get so emotional when reading the names of those children battling this horrible disease. I was just so glad I was able to do my part and help spread a little happiness in their lives by buying one for them. Lou, you are truly an amazing person and seeing all those respond to your message at Thunderbash just proves what we all have been saying for a very long time now. | I just wanted to say, It feels great to be able to help with the fight against childhood cancer. I bought the Lou bear for my beautiful 2 and a half year old daughter Angelina. I really don't think she has spent more then ten minutes away from it since I got it. Lou Monteleone is my brother, so she refers to it as "Uncle Lou" and MUST have it when she goes to sleep, or she simply won't go to bed. | I purchased a Lou Bear for myself with a picture of my 2 year old grandson Riley. I did this in honor of all children who are suffering with this horrid disease. To my dear friend Lou who started this.....you should be so very proud of yourself. One person CAN make a difference. | My mother was recently diagnosed again with Breast Cancer, this is her 3rd bout. A very very special friend of the family Lou M. designed a Lou Bear for her. Mom has the 1st Lou Bear ever created. Lou personalized it with his picture, Message and a Joke ! This bear is very special to Mom and to all of us! Everytime we listen to the joke it makes us all laugh and focus on all good things instead of her disease. Our "Louie Bear" which we named him has given her a ray of hope for tomorrow. It has been another positive in my life to be able to help others in their time of need.I've heard nothing but great things from those who received them and even the families of children with cancer have told me how it has helped them during their difficult time. I'm so glad our paths have crossed and that together we can raise the awareness of childhood cancer while helping fund the research needed through the St Baldrick's Foundation.
